Bright,wrap-around colour pictorial artwork illustrated,stapled paper covers with black,red and yellow lettering to front and black text to rear cover; with negligible shelf-wear and minimal bumping, creasing to edges and corners.Top front corner tip with uniform dog-ear crease to it and to the following 4pp,a further diagonal crease,below said crease on the cover only - and not affecting any following pages and a tiny corner tip crease to rear lower corner too.No other major corner creases present.The adhesive used to glue the badges in has bled to through to the preceding page to a few of the latter pages but still generally bright and clean.16pp [unpaginated] with b/w+colour illustration and text. Regiments and battle actions described and depicted include: Royal Artillery - Desert V.C (posthumous). Second-Lieutenant W. Gunn,Gordon Highlanders - The Piper of Dargai (Indian North West Frontier), The South Wales Borderers - Rorke's Drift,RAF- The Dambusters, The Royal Scots battle of Quatre Bas 2 days before Waterloo Battle,The Middlesex Regiment - Albuera, Peninsular War,The Coldstream Guards - Battle of Chateau Hougoumont and Battle of the Somme,1916,The Royal Tank Regiment - North Africa,Gazala,Lt-Col. Foote (V.C.) and finally the Royal Marines. Each listed regiment has a potted history of it and actions described with either a colour of b/w depiction of said action. Highly uncommon to find an ephemeral free gift such as this,and further even scarcer or rarer to fine it complete. Launched 28th September,1974,this boy's new weekly war comic,for sale on Thursdays @ 5p originally,ran for 627 issues between 1974-86,many with free gifts.After its last issue,it merged with VICTOR.
